My name is Damian Curran.
I am a PhD Candidate in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Melbourne exploring AI language models and their application in the legal sector. I am also a lawyer. Prior to pivoting into a career in technology, I practiced in Melbourne and London, specialising in building and construction disputes including international arbitration and litigation on major infrastructure projects. I have an honours degree in law and civil engineering from Monash University. I have a Masters in IT (Artificial
Intelligence) from the University of Melbourne.
On this site I post various personal musing relating to the interaction of law, technology and design. It includes content from several years ago (notably before my academic pivot into AI), which I keep up for posterity. This site does not cover my primary academic and research work.
I would love to hear from you to discuss anything I’ve written, discuss new opportunities or just to bounce around some ideas.
